Copyediting
All stages of editing are important but Copyediting is the edit that will make your work shine
There is a lot to think about here!
To achieve flawless, accurate and succinct writing your final ‘draft’ will be checked for clarity and consistency, to ensure the document is ready for its final edit (proofreading is the last edit before publishing).
When you are ready for Rudy Write to undertake a copyedit, your document will have been written in its entirety but could perhaps still do with some tweaking.
Copyediting is where we work through the document sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph; checking that spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax and sentence consistency are accurate, informative and appropriate.
Are we focussing on American, British or Australian spelling; are colloquialisms accurate; are the names of people and places spelled correctly?
(hmmmm, you may prefer spelt rather than spelled – whichever way you prefer, is perfectly fine by us 
)
We will work with you to determine the best solutions for all the hard work you have put into your document or manuscript.
If you have a style guide or style manual, we will ensure the document complies with required conventions.
If your budget does not allow for structural editing as well as copyediting, we can provide some suggestions on the basic structure of the document. If the document requires an in-depth structural edit, we will suggest this be undertaken prior to copyediting
