Here we are! The final read of your document is about to begin
Rudy Write will look for overlooked spelling and grammatical errors or typos, whilst also proofing layout and formatting. Choosing to forgo this edit may seem an option but to ensure you have a well-polished, final piece of writing that is ready for posting online or sending to print, this is an essential stage of editing.
When a document gets to this stage, it is usually the first time it is seen in its final form.
Proofreading is not intended to clarify meaning, grammar, syntax, punctuation etc you will need copyediting for that, nor does it look at the structure of the work – structural editing will help you out with the structure.
Have you ever read a book and thought “hmm, they said she was thirty when she had the baby and now she is 25.” or “grapefroot! That’s not how it’s spelled!” (or spelt! It’s up to you).
These little – but often annoying errors – can be overlooked during previous edits, including copyediting, due to minor changes being made, spelling errors not being picked up or perhaps because of reformatting issues.
